After such a large response to their sauces, Jodie, Kristi and Lisa (The Three Hot Tamales) decided that it was time to let them loose on the world! But, they had to find a reliable co-packer that possessed the ability to produce their awesome sauces up to their exacting standards. Enter: Jeff Mitchell from Vermont Pepper Works.

From the first time the ladies contacted Jeff they knew he was the one to handle this venture. He answered about a million questions and offered an abundance of advice. He understood their need and gently guided them through the process.

Five months later and they were raring to go. The Three Hot Tamales spent  3 days in Fairfax ,Vermont visiting  Jeff which proved to be a fun learning experience for these three tamales. The "newbies" had no idea what was in store for them, but they were eager to see their sauces made on such a grand scale. Jeff made them feel at home and very comfortable and allowed them to really participate in everything from start to finish. It was truly a labor of love. We worked 10 hours straight chopping and slicing and mixing a yummy array of ingredients and from the outcome of all the sauces they all agreed that it was well worth it.

Kudos to you Jeff for putting up with us for that long.

All that hard work in Vermont definitely paid off when the lovely ladies were notified that their "Cry Baby" Hot Sauce won a First Place Scovie Award in the Habanero category and their "Make Me Moan Mango" received a Third Place Scovie in the Fruit category. For those of you who aren't familiar with a Scovie Award, a yearly contest is held where amateurs and professionals  (different categories, of course) submit everything from salsas to hot sauces, marinades to dessert toppings, bbq sauces to snacks, all with the common denominator of being a fiery food. They are then voted on by judges (in their respective category) and then considered for an award.
